What is Restyle a Photo?
Restyle a Photo is an AI tool in Pixelift that runs in the browser with no installation. Upload one photo, pick one of 13 ready-made styles — from anime, cartoon, watercolor and pencil sketch to oil painting, cyberpunk or beach — and optionally add your own description. FLUX Kontext Pro redraws the photo and the setting while trying to keep the facial features. Engine: FLUX Kontext Pro. Cost: 3 credits per result; credits are bought once in packs from $1.49, no subscription, and they never expire. Files go to our server in the EU; if the tool uses an AI model, it runs at a provider from our subprocessor list. We never train models on them.

Anime, Vintage (1950s sepia film photo), Oil painting, Cartoon (outlines and flat colors), Pencil sketch (graphite on white paper, no color) and Watercolor (paper texture) — they change the look of the whole picture.
New setting
Cyberpunk, Fantasy, Sci-fi, Nature, Beach and Urban — they move the person from the photo into a different environment.

Professional style: an office background, smart clothing and clean light, like a photo for a CV or company profile.
How style transfer works on Pixelift
13 ready-made styles plus your description
You pick a style from the list and can add details in the description field: clothing, time of day, background or mood. You don't upload a style reference image — the look comes from the chosen style and your description.
The person and framing stay
The model redraws the photo while trying to keep the facial features and the composition. A full likeness is not guaranteed — compare the result with the original on the slider before you download it.
Description enhancer
The “Enhance” button expands a short description into a fuller prompt for the model. You can accept it or keep your own.

Style transfer uses FLUX Kontext Pro (Black Forest Labs), a model that edits an image according to a text instruction. Each of the 13 styles is a ready-made instruction, and your description is appended to it.

- No strength slider — the chosen style and your description set the intensity
- If generation fails, your credits are returned automatically
What to expect — Works best for
- Portraits with a clear, well-lit face

Limitations
- Facial likeness is not guaranteed — the model may change features
- You can't upload your own style reference image or set the effect strength
- Setting styles change the background and may change clothing; the Watercolor style can lighten very dark clothing colors
Tips for best results
- Start with a photo where the face is sharp and well lit
- For a CV photo, pick the Professional style and add the jacket or background color
- Be specific in the description: “sunset”, “winter jacket”, “rain and neon”
- For a drawing without color pick Pencil sketch; for a colorful illustration pick Cartoon or Watercolor

Frequently asked questions
Can I upload my own image as a style reference?
No. Pixelift style transfer does not accept a reference image. You pick one of 13 ready-made styles and can add your own text description, e.g. colors, background or mood.
Will the face in my photo be preserved?
The model tries to keep the facial features and the composition, but a full likeness is not guaranteed. You can compare the result with the original on the slider before downloading.
Can I adjust the strength of the effect?
There is no strength slider. You steer the result with the style you choose and your description, e.g. “subtle, natural colors” or “strong neon”.
Which styles are available?
Art styles: Anime, Vintage, Oil painting, Cartoon, Pencil sketch and Watercolor — they change the style of the whole picture. Settings: Cyberpunk, Fantasy, Professional, Nature, Beach, Urban and Sci-fi — they move the person into a new environment.
How many credits does style transfer cost?
Each style transfer costs 3 credits. The tool requires an active Starter plan or higher. If generation fails, your credits are returned automatically.
